WHAT IS COR-TEN®
Steel That Weathers Beautifully
COR-TEN® is a weathering steel engineered to form a dense, protective oxide layer — a patina — when exposed to alternating wet and dry cycles. Unlike ordinary steel, which continues to corrode, COR-TEN® develops a self-stabilising surface that dramatically slows further rusting.
The result is a material that requires virtually zero ongoing maintenance, develops a rich, evolving aesthetic over time, and outlasts conventional coated steels in exposed environments.
