Terms & Conditions
Standard supply terms for bulk COR-TEN® sheets, coils and related metal products.
These terms apply to quotations, orders and supply of raw material products by Corten Australia. They are intended to clarify order acceptance, payment, delivery, claims and product limitations.
Scope of Supply
Corten Australia supplies raw COR-TEN® sheets, coils and related metal products in bulk. Unless expressly agreed in writing, we do not provide engineering design, installation, certification, fixing design or project compliance advice.
Quotations & Pricing
All quotations are based on the information provided at the time of enquiry, including material type, thickness, quantity, delivery location and availability. Prices are quoted in Australian dollars and are exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise.
Quote Validity
Due to changes in steel pricing, freight rates, exchange rates and stock availability, quotations are valid only for the period stated on the quote. If no period is stated, the quotation is valid for 14 days from the issue date.
Orders & Acceptance
An order is not confirmed until accepted by us in writing. We may request written purchase order details, delivery information and full payment before materials are released, reserved or dispatched.
Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, payment is required in full before dispatch or collection. Ownership of goods remains with the supplying entity until full payment has been received and cleared.
Delivery & Freight
Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may be affected by freight availability, carrier delays, site access, weather, public holidays or other factors outside our control. Risk in the goods passes to the customer once the goods leave our warehouse or nominated dispatch point.
Customer Responsibilities
The customer is responsible for confirming that the selected material, thickness, quantity and finish are suitable for the intended project. Project compliance, detailing, installation, drainage, fixing design and environmental suitability must be confirmed by the customer’s builder, fabricator, architect, engineer or project team.
Weathering Steel Performance
COR-TEN® and weathering steel performance depends on exposure, airflow, drainage, wet/dry cycles, material gauge, site location and detailing. We do not provide a project lifespan warranty for weathering steel, particularly where the material is used in coastal, marine, constantly damp or poorly drained environments.
Inspection & Claims
Customers must inspect all materials upon delivery or collection. Any claim for visible damage, shortage or incorrect supply must be made in writing within 48 hours of receiving the goods. Claims may not be accepted once materials have been cut, fabricated, installed, altered or used.
Returns & Cancellations
Returns are not accepted for change of mind, incorrect ordering, custom orders, cut materials, opened pallets, separated sheets or materials that have been handled, stored incorrectly or altered. Any cancellation or return request must be approved by us in writing.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to replacement of the supplied goods, repair of the goods, or refund of the purchase price. We are not liable for consequential loss, project delays, loss of profit, removal costs, installation costs, fabrication costs or third-party claims.
Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights, guarantees or remedies that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law.
These terms are general business terms only and may be updated from time to time. For questions about an order, quote or delivery, please contact us before placing your order.
